Training, teaching, and other activities

Linear B

My training in Linear B continued in 2014, even more intense, with the ongoing work to IISEMG chapter 2 and the participation to the AAP6079 module, where I also made my first Linear B tablets!

Teaching

I informally shared teaching as ‘instructor’ for the following modules, acquiring both new knowledge and new skills in communication and chairing discussion groups.

AAP6073 Current Issues in Aegean Prehistory;

AAP6119 The Homeric Epics and the Archaeological Record;

AAP6079 Linear B and Mycenaean Greek: Writing, Reading and Interpreting

Department Open Day (19 February  2014)

I took part in a Department Open Day for prospective students. Deliverying a very short and meaningful lecture has been quite challenging - how to communicate the maximum in a minimum amount of time!

IF YOU WERE THE KING OF PYLOS, HOW COULD YOU ORANISE YOUR TEXTILE INDUSTRY???'

The Sheffield Crucible 2013/2014

I have been awarded a grant to take part in the The Sheffield Crucible (2013- 2014). The Sheffield Crucible (originally developed by NESTA- National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) is a professional development program implemented with the aim of creating 'outward facing researchers’. It aims to develop the competencies required to initiate and develop interdisciplinary working, knowledge exchange, entrepreneurial activity and creative thinking.
